LA Vs. LA: Dodgers Host the Angels

The Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Los Angeles Angels tonight at Dodger Stadium. The Angels just came off the second-longest road winning streak at nine games (They’re still on the road, technically.), while the Dodgers still hold the best record in the Majors at 39-22. We’ll have inning by inning coverage right here.

Second Inning:

TOP:

We got a late start. The Dodgers scored two in the bottom of the first, helped by a double from Elian Herrera. Dodgers 2, Angels 0.

Third Inning:

Top:

We got caught up in the historic Kings victory tonight. So, we’re a little late getting started. The Dodgers lead 2-0, and the Angels have just stranded three runners.  Dodgers 2, Angels 0.

Bottom:

Dee Gordon doubles to lead off the inning. Herrera flies out and moves Gordon to third. Andre Ethier strikes out. Abreu flies out. Dodgers 2, Angels 0.

Fourth Inning:

Top

John Hester walks. Hester steals second. The crowd starts a wave. Richards is aboard. Mike Trout. Richards gets picked off at first. Mike Trout homers for the Angels. Torii Hunter gets a scrambling double. Pujols flies out. Dodgers 2, Angels 1.

Bottom:

Jerry Hairston Jr. flies out. James Loney singles to short right. AJ Ellis walks. Tony Gwynn Jr. hits into a double play. Dodgers 2, Angels 1.

Fifth Inning:

Top:

Mark Trumbo out at first. Howie Kendrick thrown out at first. Alberto Callaspo out at first. Dodgers 2, Angels 1.
