Cypress Parks’ Cinco de Mayo parade was sponsored by The Greater Cypress Park Neighborhood Council and City Councilmember Ed P. Reyes and The Department of Recreation and Parks. The event featured comedian Kiki Melendez as Grand Marshall and guest celebrities actor, impersonator and “El Comodín” Mario Ramirez; actor Richard Yñiguez of ‘Boulevard Nights” fame; director, producer and actress Jackie Torres; PBS’ “Storytime!” and Latin Heat’s “Let’s Talk” host Marabina Jaimes and her castmates from the web series “Fixing Paco.” There was also a reenactment of the Battle of Puebla by local youth.
